PURPOSE OF THIS DOCUMENT This document is the controlling story bible for **The Leap Chronicles**. An AI writing or rewriting any portion of this trilogy must treat the information contained here as canon unless specifically instructed otherwise by the author. The trilogy should NOT read like three loosely connected adventures. It is one enormous mystery told across three novels. Information introduced innocently in Book One should acquire new meaning in Book Two and, in many cases, a final meaning in Book Three. The desired reader experience is: ### BOOK ONE "I thought I understood what C.L.U.B. was." ### BOOK TWO "I completely misunderstood what Baltazar was doing." ### BOOK THREE "I didn't even understand what reality was." Despite the cosmic scope, the emotional center must always remain simple: **Otto wants to find his way home without losing himself along the way.** The fundamental series statement is: **Every Leap takes Otto farther from home and threatens to make him older. Every choice determines whether he is still Otto Hulewsky when he finally returns.** --- # 2. TARGET READER AND TONE Primary audience: **Ages approximately 11–16.** The prose should be sophisticated enough that adults can enjoy it but accessible enough that an intelligent eleven- or twelve-year-old can follow it. The novels should contain: - mystery - adventure - humor - danger - suspense - wonder - friendship - family - betrayal - moral choices - imaginative worlds - frightening moments - emotional consequences - age-appropriate first attraction/crushes if useful - philosophical questions expressed through story rather than lectures The novels should NOT contain: - alcohol consumption - coffee culture - drug use - sexual content - explicit sexual discussion - graphic gore - excessive profanity - cynical adult material - gratuitous brutality Celebrations should use food, music, games, fruit drinks, cider, cocoa-like beverages, sparkling drinks, herbal drinks, etc. Violence may occur when necessary, but consequences and emotional reactions matter more than graphic description. --- # 3.
