The Station

One hundred people died in the Station nightclub fire in 100 seconds. Ada is not investigating the fire. She is investigating the inspection report filed thirty days earlier that cited the foam as a hazard — received but never reviewed. She finds the fire marshal who signed the approval stamp. He did not read the report. His explanation maps a system in which reading it was structurally impossible. The report was designed to be unfindable in the time available to the person responsible for finding it.
