The Weapon

In 1958, a B-47 jettisoned a Mark 15 nuclear bomb into the waters off Tybee Island during a training collision. The Air Force searched, failed to find it, declared it irretrievably lost. Ada finds the sonar technician who participated in the 1958 search and a classified 2001 follow-up. The 2001 search found the weapon. Findings were immediately classified. He was told no record of the search existed. He kept his field log.
